SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department is looking for the public’s help in locating a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country maroon mini-van. The van has an Arizona plate of WCJBG33.

At approximately 9:57 a.m. this morning the victim was warming up the specially-equipped van near the area of 700 N. and 800 W. when an unknown suspect took the van. The victim uses the van for her 27yr old son “Tommy” who was involved in car accident last year and is now a quadriplegic. Inside the stolen van is Tommy’s clothing, medical equipment and needed medication.

Tommy was recruited by Coach Dennis Erickson and played football at ASU. In January of 2015 Tommy along with his brother were involved in a serious car accident that resulted in a spine fracture leaving him a quadriplegic.

Tommy’s father is a retired firefighter and his mother is a retired nurse. Using their retirement funds they purchased the van and are paying for Tommy’s therapy. This vehicle is the only source of transportation for their son.

The family is willing to talk with the media.

The Police Department asks anyone who may know the location of this vehicle to call (801) 799-3000. Anonymous tips may be sent by text to 274637. Please start your text with TIPSLCPD, which routes it to the police department. Then include any relevant information. Reference: case #15-212770.
