April 15, 2013 — In front of an exhibit of the top 25 entries on display at the main City Library, the Salt Lake City Police Department will award $5,000 in scholarships and other prizes when its sixth-annual Student Art Contest comes to a close at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Each participating student earns a contest t-shirt, while the judges’ top picks will be awarded scholarships, laptops, iPads, iPods and other prizes. The Department will use the contest’s winning entries in a new public awareness campaign about the consequences of drug use and abuse.
A pizza social in the contestants’ honor will be hosted by KCPW on the library plaza afterward.
