SALT LAKE CITY — Larceny detectives are looking for help from the public to identify a suspect who stole a computer from a church in June.

At approximately 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, a volunteer left her laptop computer sitting on a table during a food drive at the church, 662 E. 1300 S. When she returned, her laptop was gone.

Surveillance video (above) shows a man sitting down at a table by the unattended laptop. He then leaves the room briefly only to return wearing a leather jacket and carrying a box. He places the box on the floor next to the laptop. The suspect then leaves the church again, comes back, puts the laptop into the box and walks out of the church with it. He returns a fourth time, unplugs the laptop’s charger from the wall and leaves the church with the charger.

Suspect description:

  • White male
  • 40-50 years old
  • Wearing purple dress shirt and gray slacks
  • Dark colored leather jacket
