Scholarship, prizes to be awarded Friday, April 11, at 4:30 p.m. event

SALT LAKE CITY — An exhibit of the top 25 entries in the Salt Lake City Police Department’s annual Student Art Contest will be installed Monday at the main City Library, 210 E. 400 S., where a scholarship and other prizes will be awarded Friday afternoon.

A panel of judges chose entries by the following students to compete for top honors and prizes during Friday’s final round of judging:

All students whose entries met contest guidelines will receive a contest T-shirt at Friday’s finals, at which time the top 25 entries will compete for a $2,500 scholarship and a MacBook from the Salt Lake City Police Foundation. Other prizes will be awarded, including an iPad, iPad mini, iPod Touch and a digital camera.

All of the nearly 100 entries in this year’s contest, which can be seen on SLCPD’s Flickr page, are eligible for the Fan Favorite prize, an iPad mini. The entry with the most unique “faves” by noon Friday, April 11, 2014, will be awarded an iPad mini[1].

Schedule of Events for Finals — Friday, April 11, 2014:
3:00 p.m. Final round of judging at City Library
4:30 p.m. Winners announced; scholarship, prizes awarded
5:00 p.m. Pizza party contest participants at City Library
