Military Honors Funeral For 18 Unclaimed Veterans

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department will take part in a Missing In America Project memorial service this Saturday, August 13, 2016. The Missing In America Project is a nationwide nonprofit organization dedicated to locating and interring unclaimed remains of honorably discharged veterans that have been found in area funeral homes.

We will be assisting with the Missing In America Project by offering our services. In addition to the SLCPD Explorers, the SLCPD Motor Squad will be providing the escort from 2928 S. State Street to the Utah Veterans Memorial.

The community and the media are welcome to attend.

The schedule will be as follows:

9:15 a.m. Pre-Ride Talk
9:30 a.m. Dignified transfer of urns into Last Ride Hearse
10:00 a.m. Depart- SLCPD Escort to Utah Veterans Memorial Park
10:30 a.m. Full Military Honors Service for 18 Honorably Discharged Unclaimed Veterans
