Suspect tied to 9 cases

After burglarizing a Sugar House eatery in January, the suspect (above) was caught on surveillance video at a nearby business. He’s now a suspect in as many as nine business burglaries over the last six months.

March 8, 2013 — A burglary suspect active in Sugar House since September has struck again, and the Salt Lake City Police Department seeks the public’s help to identify and locate him.

The detective investigating the series of commercial burglaries has tied the suspect to as many as nine cases in Sugar House. Most of his targets have been restaurants, but the suspect’s most recent victim was a day spa in the area. In each case, he has taken the cash register or other small, portable electronics, including televisions, printers and stereos.

Last month, SLCPD released surveillance images in which the suspect was seen driving a red Ford Taurus with four doors and Utah centennial plates. In the photos — captured on security video at a car wash near one of the victim businesses — he appears to be a male white adult, in his 30s, with a shaved or bald head.
