AFTERNOON SHIFT

2013 Pursuit 1001 S. 900 W. 12-160152

Gang officers were searching for a homicide suspect and spotted a possible suspect vehicle, a green Honda, in a parking lot on Main Street. They observed Brittney Montano (8/1/91) get into the car, at which point it left the area headed north on Main, then east on 900 South. The Honda then made an abrupt u-turn, at which time officers identified the driver as Frank Reyos (12/14/81), wanted in connection with the August 29, 2012, homicide of Kenyatta Winston. A pursuit was called. Officers then attempted to stop the car, but the suspect rammed them and fled west on 900 South, then south on 900 West. An officer used the pit maneuver at 1000 South to stop the suspect, whose vehicle was completely disabled. Both Reyos and Montano received minor injuries in the crash. They were transported to local hospitals, treated and released. Officers booked Reyos into jail on an outstanding warrant, and they will be adding charges of homicide and aggravated assault on a police officer later today. Officers booked Montano for obstruction of justice, a second-degree felony.
