Attempted Theft of a Police Car

Officers were speaking with a pedestrian at this location when Timothy Markham (9/16/82) approached on foot, acting suspiciously. Markham suddenly ran up to the unoccupied police car and attempted to open the locked driver-side door. Officers quickly took him into custody. After a short investigation, it was discovered that Markham was trying to steal the police car. He was booked into jail for attempt theft of a police vehicle.
Assault on an Officer
1465 S. State Street
Police were called about a man refusing to leave the business at this address. Officers arrested Thewodros Birhanu (02/12/1982). During and after the arrest, Birhanu spat in the face of an officer and upon another officer’s uniform. Birhanu was booked on trespass and assault by prisoner charges.
