During the night 30 to 40 cars were vandalized in the Sugarhouse area. Detectives are actively working the case and request information from the public who may have been in the area overnight and witnessed suspicious activity. The suspect approached various cab drivers throughout the night and pointed a handgun at the driver. Suspect would demand money and flee the area after the robbery. Suspect was described as a male, dark clothing, with a black bandana on his face. The suspect committed a total of six robberies with the first starting at 10:33 p.m. Friday and the last one at 1:23 a.m. Saturday.

Officers investigating the multiple robberies were watching taxi cabs and noticed a white Mercedes with some fender damage following a cab. The Mercedes had a tail light out, so officers initiated a traffic stop. The driver, Travis Patt (11/17/87) had an arrest warrant and a suspended driver license. During an inventory of the car, a handgun with a laser and a bundle of cash were located in the car’s glove compartment. Patt was booked on six counts of aggravated robbery the arrest warrant and traffic charges.
