Occupied Stolen Vehicle
1829 S. State St.
Auto Theft detectives saw a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Zion’s Motel. The vehicle was to be stolen out of West Valley City. They waitied until someone got into the truck, moved in and made contact. Rudy Acosta (6/27/74) was booked into jail on the stolen vehicle charge.
800 S. 200 E.
A bicyclist was riding at a high rate of speed and ran a red traffic light. A patrol car fell in behind the bike, engaging lights and siren, but the bicyclist rode faster now, against traffic. The bicyclist suddenly stopped as the patrol car was right behind it. The front bumper of the patrol car contacted the rear of the bike, as the cyclist went down. He jumped up immediately however and began running, captured a short time later. He was checked by medical and released. Roland Roth (8/6/93) was booked for running the red light, failure to stop at the command of an officer, and possession of methamphetamine.
873 E. South Temple
A man with a mask entered the convenience store at this address, brandished a weapon and demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspect fled. He is described as an Hispanic adult, medium build, black mask and hoodie, black jeans, white shoes and gloves.
