Forgery
832 W. North Temple

Officers were dispatched to the Check Smart on a possible forgery.  As an officer arrived, the suspect was exiting the business and immediately fled through the block.  Containment was quickly set up and a UHP K9 responded to assist in searching for the suspect. He was located hiding nearby along Jackson  Avenue. Leonardo Garza (2/5/78) was booked on forgery and fleeing charges.

Traffic Accident/Power Outage
746 W. 900 S.

A motorist drove off the roadway and hit a power pole. The damage resulted in some blocks of the City being blacked out, as well as some small fires ignited from electrical sparking. The 33-year-old male driver was transported to a local hospital in serious condition, charges pending.

UPDATE: Shooting
1856 S. 1200 E.
14-73006 

Officers responded to shots fired and a woman screaming outside of an apartment.  A man in his early-30s and a woman in her mid-20s were taken to a local hospital with gunshot wounds.  Both remain in serious condition.  Detectives responded to the scene and secured it, pursuant to writing and executing a search warrant.  The involved female is an escort that was called to the residence.  During the meeting of the two parties a handgun was produced and a scuffle ensued.  Both parties sustained gunshot wounds. The male half has been identified as Steven Skinner (4/23/82) he is the resident of 1856 South 1200 East.  The investigation is continuing.
