Possession of Controlled Substance

Bike officers observed drug activity between two men in Liberty Park.  They made contact with the men. Cocaine, cash, and cell phones were seized.  Carlos Arteaga-Acosta (4/16/92) and Hector Arteaga-Acosta (7/21/84) were both booked for distribution of a controlled substance.

Attempted Robbery

A man entered the Maverik, brandished a weapon and demanded money.  The clerk said the register was locked and he did not have access.  The suspect began to climb over the counter when another customer entered the store.  The suspect ran out of the store without obtaining anything. He is described as a male white adult in his 20’s, wearing a dark beanie cap, blue sweater, and white pants with a stripe.

Fleeing/K9 Apprehension

An officer noticed a male adult peering into vehicles.  As the officer made contact the suspect resisted by pulling away, striking the officer, and then fleeing.  A K9 Unit deployed and the dog, “Tex”, found the suspect nearby. The suspect continued to resist, was bitten in the leg by the dog, and arrested. Tyler Johnson (10/22/90) was transported to the hospital for evaluation and then booked into jail on several charges and warrants.
