Watch Log: Monday, October 15, 2012

The Watch Command Log is a daily summary of events of significance compiled by Watch Commanders. There are three watches in a 24-hour period: days, afternoons and graveyards. AFTERNOON SHIFT

1929     Assault/Stolen Vehicle                    802 S. 900 W.                          12-180849

A male adult assaulted a clerk and then ran from the store. He jumped into a nearby vehicle that had the keys in it and drove away. Officers located the suspect in the stolen vehicle a short distance away. He ran from them but was taken into custody a short time later. The stolen vehicle was recovered. Joseph Valdez (6/12/76) was booked into jail for assault, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen credit cards, fleeing and possession of narcotics.

GRAVEYARD SHIFT

2144     Stolen Vehicle/Traffic Accident     1395 W. 1300 S.                          12-178464

A stolen vehicle was traveling eastbound on 1300 South when it collided with a parked car. Officers responded and located four of the five juveniles who had been in the vehicle. They were transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Investigation is continuing.
