Drive-by Shooting/Traffic Accident
In the area of 1100 N. Catherine
As the victim parked his truck in front of his home, he noticed a black Lexus with four male Hispanic juveniles drive by slowly while watching him. When the victim entered his home, he heard gun fire and ran back outside. A neighbor told him a passenger of the black Lexus had shot his truck. The victim got into his truck and found the suspect-vehicle in the area of 600 North 900 West and gave chase. The Lexus crashed into a light pole at 1000 North 900 West and the occupants fled westbound on foot. A witness to the accident stopped two of the suspects a short distance away and held them until responding officers arrived.
Update: On Sunday, gang detectives located and arrested Joe Alires (6/4/87) for the drive-by shooting, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a restricted person, and interfering with an arrest.
