Officers took custody of a 6 year old child found unattended by a citizen.  The child was non verbal and a search for the parents was unsuccessful, so the child was taken to the Christmas Box House.  About two hours later officers responded to a report of a missing 6 year old from 1665 S Riverside Drive.  The mother had left the child with a sitter who had fallen asleep and noticed the child gone when she awoke.  Officers verified this was the same child and had the mother respond to the Christmas Box House to meet with DCFS and pick up her child.  The child is non-verbal due to autism.
