A 49-year-old man was kicked out of the St. Vincent dePaul Rescue Mission for punching a 50-year-old man. Holding a fork and threatening to kill him, the 49-year-old man later confronted the 50-year-old man outside. The victim backed away from the suspect, who pursued him. The victim pulled out a knife and defensively swung it at the suspect, cutting him on the arms and hands. The suspect was transported to a local hospital with deep lacerations that required him to remain in the hospital. Aggravated assault charges will be screened against the 49-year-old man.

Police received a call of a man with a gun inside of a vehicle at the above location. Responding officers found the vehicle and it was driven by Gregory Checora (12/13/76). Checora was intoxicated and in possession of a stolen handgun. Checora was booked into jail on several charges, including driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a restricted person.

A 37-year-old man was in the driveway of his home when he was confronted by four to five men who demanded his car keys and wallet. The man attempted to run into his house, but he was pulled away by the suspects who then physically assaulted him. The suspects stole the victim’s wallet, keys and truck. The victim was transported to a local hospital in serious by stable condition. At approximately 3:51 a.m., the victim’s stolen vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run traffic accident in which the vehicle occupants fled. This investigation is ongoing.

This Maverik convenience store was robbed at gunpoint by two men. One suspect pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk complied and both suspects fled on foot. The suspect with the gun was described as a male Polynesian who wore a black short-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers. This suspect had a black shirt tied on top of his head, but left his face visible. The second suspect wore a black long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers. This suspect covered his face with a black shirt. (See Watch Log for July 1, 2012, for arrest information.)
