200 W. 400 S.
The victim had been participating in the Race for a Cure and had left her backpack, containing her cell phone and some money, on the grounds at Washington Square near the finish line of the race. Upon getting back to her bag she found it gone along with the contents. The victim used another cell phone to call her own phone. The victim was able to make contact with a person who offered her phone back but for a price. The victim contacted police. Officers were able to locate the Dennis Garcia (10/7/53) at the location that had been arranged by the victim. Garcia was arrested for the theft of the backpack and phone.
Foot Pursuit-Warrant Arrest
Tyler Arns (7/23/90) was contacted for smoking in the park. When pressed for his real name, Arns fled on foot northbound through the park. Officers responded to the area and took Arns into custody after a short chase. Arns was taken to jail for false information, fleeing and warrants.

The victim went to the shelter area to purchase crack cocaine. He took with him his 9mm Ruger Semi-auto handgun and a 12″ fixed blade buck knife with wood handle as protection. He met with a black male and was introduced to a Hispanic male. The victim was offered crystal meth instead and refused to buy it because he was looking for crack. During the encounter the victim advised them he had a gun and a knife for protection and that he wanted no trouble. The black male asked to see the gun and took it from the victim. The victim was then beaten and robbed of his money and knife.

A fight broke out in front of club elevate, a male (NFD) began to fire rounds into the air. He then ran behind the club and fired more rounds. No one was hit and no injuries have been reported. Numerous casings from a .40 caliber handgun were recovered.
