Officers responded to a burglary that had just occurred at this location. Officers located the female suspect a short distance away and took her into custody. Trina Mascorro (1/11/77) was booked into jail for aggravated burglary, theft of a firearm, and criminal mischief.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle
300 S. Rio Grande
Detectives observed a stolen vehicle being driven by a female. Officers were able to stop the vehicle and Emily Knott (10/8/85) was booked into jail for possession of a stolen vehicle.
#10 South Rio Grande
Officers observed two individuals standing in the middle of the street smoking at this location. Upon speaking with them, they determined they were juveniles and instructed them to put out their cigarettes and move out of the street. As officers continued their patrol, the same juveniles began making aggressive comments and indicated they wanted to fight. As officers once again engaged the juveniles, one of them initiated a fight. As the officers attempted to take the two into custody, a large group from the homeless shelter began advancing on the officers. A glass bottle was thrown at officers from a crowd of approximately 75 individuals and numerous people were attempting to incite the crowd to attack officers. Other officers arrived on the scene, which was contained and the crowd dispersed. The juveniles were taken to Juvenile Detention for assault on a police officer, failure to obey a lawful command, and resisting arrest. Karly Barrick (12/11/91) was arrested and taken to jail for assault on a peace officer and inciting a riot. Phillip May (12/2/89) was arrested for interfering, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and inciting a riot.
231 E. 400 S.
An officer responded to a call of a suspicious male who was yelling and threatening citizens. As the officer attempted to make contact with the male, he began to run away from the officer, then turned towards the officer and began to fight with the officer. The officer was able to gain control of the suspect and take him into custody. The suspect was found to be in possession of two large knifes. Joshua Cruz (3/18/84) was booked into jail for fleeing, assault on a police officer and possession of a concealed weapon.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle
352 W. 600 N.
Detectives observed a stolen vehicle being driven on 600 N. The vehicle was stopped and Emaline Charbonier (11/10/71) was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle.
500 W 200 S
Officers were attempting to issue a male a citation for jaywalking when the male became aggressive towards officers and attempted to fight. Officers used OC spray to gain control of the male. Jason Potter (8/16/72) was booked into jail for jaywalking and resisting arrest.
