Stolen Vehicle-child inside/Driver Arrest
530 S. Concord
The victim called to report that someone had stolen her Dodge Caravan while it was parked and running in front of her house. The victim stated that she forgot to lock the front door of her house, so she jumped out of the van and ran up her driveway to lock her door. Her three year old child was inside the van when the suspect decided to steal it. The suspect drove off in the van and then at some point looked in the back seat and realized that there was a child inside the van. The suspect then drove back to the home, got out of the van, and knocked on the front door and asked if she could wait inside for police to arrive. The suspect, Idaly Proano (5/21/92) was taken into custody by responding officers. A search of her person revealed she had the victim’s phone and had methamphetamine. She was booked into jail for stolen vehicle, theft, and possession of a controlled substance.
