Burglary in Progress
454 W. 600 N.
Officers responded to a burglary in progress at the May Foundry & Machine Company. The complainant informed officers that he had seen a suspect inside the building. Officers contained the building and then made entry. They observed a man hiding in the roof area of the building. Daniel Howard (8/24/75) was taken into custody. Howard was charged with possession of methamphetamine, trespassing and warrants.

A woman went to an apartment to pick up a friend’s vehicle. Upon arrival, she was attacked by two women while a man blocked the doorway. The attackers beat the woman and stole her purse, then left the scene in a car. An officer saw the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, during which the victim’s purse was found. Officers arrested driver Chad Gallegos (3/9/82) and passenger Alma Lopez (6/3/85) for robbery, as well as possession of a controlled substance found in the vehicle.

An officer observed suspicious people in a car parked in the parking lot of a credit union at this address. His surprise approach interrupted a drug deal between Reed Grover (6/2/73) and Victor Silvera (8/9/53). Grover was booked for possession of more than an ounce of meth with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. Silvera was booked for possession of meth and drug paraphernalia.
