400 S. 200 W.
Officers were at 400 S. 200 W. on a traffic stop when suddenly a car pulled up and stopped behind them. The male driver jumped out and ran up to them, stating he was being kidnapped by the male passenger, still in the car. The officers approached the car and placed the passenger in handcuffs while they investigated. The victim stated he was parked talking on his cell phone when the suspect opened the passenger side door and entered the car. The suspect indicated he had a handgun and told the victim to “drive”. The victim was forced to withdraw money at a nearby ATM and handed it over to the suspect. As they drove through downtown the victim saw the police cars in front of him, overhead lights activated, and raced up to them. Damon Greenberry (10/26/79) was booked for robbery, kidnapping and other charges. No one was injured during the incident.
