Compiled by Watch Commanders in the field, the Watch Log is a summary of significant events over the last 24-hour period. Items contained herein are based on information available at the time of its release and should not be interpreted as an admission or finding of guilt. Outside Agency Officer Involved Shooting

The U.S. Marshalls JCAT (Joint Criminal Apprehension Team), of which Salt Lake City Police Department is not a part of, was attempting to serve an arrest warrant without prior notice to the police department. A male outside the residence fired a handgun at the task force officers. More than one task force officer returned fire, striking the suspect. Salt Lake City officers responded after the shooting. Once officers were able to apprehend the subject safely, he was transported to a local hospital where he later died. The subject has been identified as Ronnie Manuel Ontiveros (1/15/76). Negotiations resulted in two males and a female exiting the house. One of the males was the person JCAT was looking for. James Mciff (11/5/82) was booked for parole or probation violation. The female, Amber Zinda (6/22/78), was booked for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and failure to stop. A female who was located in the garage and the second man from inside the home were released.

Aggravated Assault

454 E. 300 S.

A 40-year old female was walking home when she was assaulted by an unknown man. As the victim called out for help the male suspect fled. He is described as a male white adult, approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, brown hair, face stubble, dark clothing. The victim was transported in serious condition with a wound to the neck.

Aggravated Robbery

1659 W. North Temple

A man met someone on a website and agreed to meet them at the Quality Inn Motel. Three females eventually showed up at the room. One of them pulled out a handgun, demanding money, and striking the victim in the face with the handgun. After robbing him the victim was able to see the three leave in a gray Nissan. Officers found the car and were able to arrest the robbers. Felicia Losoya (8/7/90) and Tessa Brunson (5/12/94) were booked on several charges including aggravated robbery. The third female, a juvenile, was transported to Detention.
