Compiled by Watch Commanders in the field, the Watch Log is a summary of significant events over the last 24-hour period. Items contained herein are based on information available at the time of its release and should not be interpreted as an admission or finding of guilt. Theft/ Containment Plan
200 N. 900 W.
Suspect Peter Salazar (5/14/85) fled Rite Aid after being confronted by a loss prevention specialist about unpaid items. Officers responded and established a containment plan. After finding Salazar in the area, officers took him to jail on charges related to the theft.
210 E 400 S.
A 25-year-old man and two friends were at Library Square when a suspect approached and threatened the victim with a weapon. The suspect took the victim’s backpack and fled on foot, southbound. Responding officers recovered the backpack one block away. The suspect is described as a male Hispanic or Native American man, in his 20s, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 200 lbs., wearing blue jeans, black jacket, and a blue or black bandana hanging from his pants. No injuries to the victims.
Missing Endangered Person/Found
423 S 1100 W.
Loretta Barlow, 78, wandered away from a care center. After officers conducted an extensive search and the public was alerted, Dispatch received a call from a business at 800 S. 900 W., reporting an elderly woman sitting outside the business. Officers responded and reunited Barlow with her family.
211 S. 500 W. (Men’s shelter)
A 47-year-old man was confronted by suspect Adrian Andrews (10/17/67) and two other men. All three suspects physically assaulted the victim, taking his money. Officers apprehended Andrews and took him to jail on related charges. The other suspects remain outstanding. The victim was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
Pedestrian Stop/CED Deployment
210 S. 500 W.
While patrolling the shelter area, officers were confronted by Eric Green (2/7/78). Green sprinted toward the officers in an attempt to physically attack them. A CED deployment was successful in stopping the attack. Green was transported to jail on related charges.
