Hit & Run
600 N. 900 W.
Officers responded to a hit and run collision with minor injuries. From the suspect vehicle description, investigators found the address and vehicle involved in the accident. Officers arrested Timothy Sprau (9/30/85) and booked him for negligent collision and hit-and-run.
400 S. 400 W.
A vehicle involved in a West Valley carjacking was spotted by officers in Salt Lake City. After receiving authorization to pursue, they stopped the suspect at approximately 1400 West on Interstate 80. Officers arrested David Montoya (8/29/94) for felony fleeing and other charges. The investigation has been turned over to West Valley City Police Department.
910 N. 900 W.
A taxi driver picked up a man who, after driving around for a short time, requested the driver return him to his pickup point. Once there, the suspect told the driver to get out of the car, and then took the victim’s wallet and cell phone. The victim then felt “sharp punches” to his back, punches which turned out to be stab wounds. The suspect fled. He is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, afro-style hair, and wearing a black jacket and blue jeans. The driver was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
680 E. 400 S.
A man entered the gas station, threatening the male clerk with a weapon and demanding money. The clerk complied, and the suspect fled southbound along 700 East. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 165 pounds, wearing a purple and light-blue striped hoodie, jeans, blue ski mask and black gloves.
