A 53-year-old man had just gotten a drink from the cooler when Alfred Montoya, 62, entered the store. The men exchanged words and a physical altercation ensued. Montoya left the store and collapsed in the front seat of his car. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The medical examiner has custody of the body and will determine the manner and cause of death.

A woman was driving northbound on 900 West when she collided with an eastbound semi-truck on 1700 South. Her car became wedged under the truck and was dragged 100 to 200 feet east of the intersection. Fire extricated from the vehicle and transported her to a local hospital in critical condition. She has since been upgraded to stable condition.
