A suspect entered the Baskin Robins with a handgun and demanded cash. He obtained some cash and fled on foot, possibly going westbound through an alley. He is described as a male white adult wearing a fedora-style hat, long plaid jacket, and knitted gloves. He was also wearing what appeared to be a Halloween mask or face paint and a black and white wig.

GRAVEYARD SHIFT

2142
Shots Fired
1157 W. California Ave
12- 216718

A male adult was inside the 7-11 at this address when a pickup truck backed into his vehicle in the parking lot. The male exited the 7-11, pulled out a handgun and fired off two rounds at the truck. As the truck quickly departed the male finished paying for his items and left in a silver sedan. A few minutes later the actual owner of the silver sedan returned with the vehicle. He told officers that a friend had borrowed the car. The suspect shooter was identified and officers are trying to locate him. One of the shots struck a nearby house. No one was injured in this incident.

Update: SLCPD asked the public to be on the lookout for Jonah Begay, a subject wanted for failure to register as a sex offender. Due to a tip from an alert citizen, officers took him into custody last night.
