Train/Pedestrian Accident
1700 S. 700 W.

Victim was walking eastbound on 1700 S. arriving to the tracks at 700 W. A freight train was stopped on the tracks over 1700 S. The victim jumped over the coupled cars of the freight train and began to jog eastbound crossing 700 West. He was wearing earphones and was apparently listening to music. He did not see the Front Runner train heading northbound. The train struck the victim and severed his right arm as well as gravely injured his right leg. Witnesses began to administer first aid until fire arrived. Victim is still listed in serious condition as of 9-30-2013
