Shots Fired

A male in a blue Jeep Cherokee fired several shots from his vehicle in the area of 1500 W. 500 N. and drove away. It was then reported that the male was at the Chevron station at North Temple / Redwood Rd. An officer responded and took Jose Partida (31) into custody without incident. Partida was still in possession of the handgun. Partida was booked on 8 counts of felony discharge of a firearm. There were no reported injuries.

The 21 year old victim was at a red light in the area of 1000 N. 900 W. when a male opened the passenger door of her vehicle and got in. He pointed a black handgun at her and directed her to drive. She drove to the area of 400 S. 600 W. as directed. The male then jumped out of her car and fled on foot N/W through the railroad yard. The suspect is described as possibly Caucasian, tall, wearing black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up. Crime lab processed the vehicle.
