Car Jacking Suspect Arrest

A vehicle stolen in West Valley during a car-jacking was showing in the area of 400 S. 300 W. according to On Star. Officers found the occupied vehicle in a parking lot at the above address and attempted to arrest the driver, Michael Montague (12/21/87). Montague drove the stolen vehicle into a police car in an attempt to leave the area. Officers were able to break the driver’s side window and deploy a conducted energy device (Taser), and Montague was taken into custody. Montague was booked on aggravated assault and aggravated robbery (car-jacking).

The victim arrived home from work and was at his front door when a male suspect approached him with a gun and demanded cash. The victim was able to get inside of his apartment without being injured and without giving the suspect any money. The suspect is described as a male black, in his mid to late 20’s, 6’1” with a thin build. He had long dread locks and was wearing a red bandana over his face, white pants and a black coat.
