A Toyota sedan pulled out of an apartment complex at 1601 W. 400 South and into the path of an eastbound vehicle. After the two cars collided 63-year old driver of the Toyota was transported in critical condition.

Robbery

A female adult victim was sitting on the sidewalk near the shelter. A man walked by and grabbed her purse which was next to her. The victim tried to grab the purse back but the suspect punched her and fled. The suspect jumped into the passenger seat of a running vehicle parked nearby and threatened the driver with a knife, demanding he drive away. The driver refused and the suspect fled. Alfonso Alvarez (10/17/77) was later captured by police and booked on several charges including the robbery.
