Assault on a Police Officer

Officers responded to an assault call at the shelter. The staff had called to report that an employee had been assaulted today and the person responsible would not leave the area. Officers found that the suspect still refused to leave and wanted to fight with them. Officers deployed their CED/Taser with little effect. The suspect was eventually taken into custody and continued to assault officers until he was placed in the patrol car. Juma Paul Sikeyo (1/1/82) was booked for assault on a police officer, assault, interference with arresting officer, assault by prisoner, and several warrants.

Fugitive Arrest

An officer observed a wanted vehicle and began following it. The car was stolen and wanted in connection with an aggravated robbery in South Salt Lake, so the officer initiated a stop. The suspect refused to stop, and the pursuit was eventually terminated once visual was lost. Later that day officers followed up on suspect information and were able to arrest the suspect and recover the stolen vehicle. South Salt Lake Police responded and booked suspect Paul Morris (08/18/89) into jail.

Robbery

A male adult victim reported that while working at a store at the above location he was robbed. The male suspect entered the store, selected a few grocery items and approached the counter. The suspect produced a weapon, asked for money from the register, and the teller complied. The suspect was seen getting into a waiting blue SUV that was parked on the west side of the store. The SUV may be an older model Suburban or Blazer. The suspect is described as a male white adult, approximately 25 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with a mustache and goatee, wearing a dark jacket with the hood partially covering his face.
