The West High School Resource Officer detained a trespasser on school property and found him to be in possession of heroin. Juan Navarro Cardona (5/26/96) was booked on several charges including possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

A 60-year-old woman confined to a wheelchair was headed home when a man with a knife confronted her. The suspect grabbed a bag from her lap and then tried to take her purse which was strapped around her body. The suspect took off as a vehicle suddenly began backing out of a nearby driveway. He is described as a male Hispanic adult, mid 20’s, 5 feet 6 inches tall, stocky build, shaved head, tattoos on arms and face including the #13 tattooed on one side of his head and the letter “M” tattooed on the other side of the face or on his neck. The woman was not injured.

Members of the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force, a multi-agency partnership of detectives, conducted an investigation which resulted in a search warrant at a downtown convenience store. Safe Streets seized more than 30 pounds of spice and arrested Nihro Sulaiman (12/15/91) for possession of synthetic drug with intent to distribute.
