The victim was arguing with the suspect, Lomphong Phommaeong (10/12/74).  The friction was due to the suspect’s binge drinking for much of the day and his insistence to leave the house.  The victim objected and the suspect cut her on the cheek with a razor blade.  The suspect assaulted the victim in front of their two minor children.   The suspect fled the scene and was later located by officers and booked into jail.

Distribution of a Controlled Substance

Officers were in the area of 600 W. 100 S. wearing their police uniforms but driving in an unmarked police vehicle when they were flagged over by suspect, Cesar Hernandez-Cruz (6/22/83).  Hernandez-Cruz asked the Officers “what they wanted”, referring to drugs.  The officers requested a specific kind of drug and Hernandez-Cruz approached their vehicle.  When Hernandez-Cruz reached the side of the officer’s vehicle he realized the occupants were police officers and he fled on foot but was apprehended shortly thereafter.  Hernandez-Cruz was found in possession of cocaine and heroin.  Hernandez-Cruz was booked into jail for Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Failing to Stop at the Command of an Officer.
