An officer observed a hand-to-hand drug deal and tried to detain the male and female suspects. The man took off running but was captured by other responding officers. Bernice Vasquez (2/19/70) and Rafael Cotto (2/26/78) were booked on several charges including possession of a firearm.

As an employee was in the adjacent alcove, a man entered the motel office, jumped over the counter and took money from the cash drawer. The suspect then fled out the door and north, across the parking lot. The suspect is described as approximately 6 feet tall, skinny build, wearing all black clothing, hoodie, ski mask and white gloves.
