Homicide detectives secured a warrant this afternoon for the arrest of Jeffery Allen Skog (2/23/79), in relation to the July 18, 2014, murder at the Royal Garden Inn. Officers located and arrested Skog within the hour near 250 W. 500 S. Skog was booked into jail for murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery – all first-degree felonies.

A man was standing on the sidewalk when a maroon SUV pulled up and a male suspect exited the vehicle. The two began to argue and then the suspect stabbed the man in the chest. The suspect then fled the area in the vehicle. The suspect was described as a white male adult, approximately 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, a thin build, with blond hair and a goatee, wearing a gray t-shirt and jeans. The SUV was driven by a white female, no description available. The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

A man was sleeping outside the shelter when he was stabbed in the neck. The victim didn’t see the suspect but witnesses told him he was stabbed by a black female. The victim informed officers that he had recently been in an argument with a black female named Shauntel. The victim was then transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Later that night, officers arrested Shauntel Brownlee (7/16/86) and booked her into jail for aggravated assault and possession of methamphetamine.
