An off duty Adult Probation and Parole officer observed a clerk at Costco running after the suspect in the parking lot. The suspect had stolen merchandise and was running towards his car. The suspect was able to get into his car and lock the doors. He then purposely drove the car at the officer, striking him and causing him to fall across the hood, as the suspect then sped away. The officer sustained minor injuries.
Officers later spotted the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop it two separate times but the suspect fled and refused to stop.
Investigators have identified the suspect as Dallas James Choate 6-24-1995. The vehicle was reported stolen on 12/14/14 and is a black 2008 BMW 328i convertible Utah Plate D514MD. Investigators and Officers continue to search for the suspect.
