Traffic accident arrest
1700 South 1300 East

An officer responded on a three car traffic accident in which one of the drivers was acting aggressive.  Upon arrival on scene, the officer learned that the driver who caused the accident, Jason Gubler, (7/9/93) had assaulted three victims, the two other drivers and a witness. The officer observed Gubler standing and staring into space at the intersection.  When the officer went to detain Gubler, Gubler attempted to strike the officer. The officer dodged the strike, created space and warned Gubler that he would be tazered.  Gubler, took an aggressive stance, told the officer to go ahead and taze him. The tazer was effectively deployed; however Gubler continued to resist officers.  Gubler was finally then taken into custody and admitted he consumed LSD. Gubler was charged with driving under the influence, 2 counts of assault, assault on a police officer, elder abuse (one victim of assault was over 80 years old), resisting arrest, and possession of marijuana.
