Man with a gun

Officers responded on a report of a man with a gun banging on a window of a car with a woman inside. Officers arrived and found the vehicle unoccupied with a window broken out. While officers were searching the area they heard a gunshot and located a man coming around the side of one of the buildings. Officers placed the individual in handcuffs and located a stolen handgun in his waistband. Further investigation resulted in the discovery of an apartment where the altercation continued. The victim had been able to flee the scene and was later interviewed by police. David Potter, 34, was booked into jail for possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a weapon by a restricted person, parole violation, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
