Suspicious package

Employees at the LDS Church Mail Service Center reported a suspicious package in their receiving area. The package was addressed to the LDS Church Presidency with no return address. The package was X-rayed and police were called. The Hazardous Device Squad responded and disrupted the box. The Postal Inspector responded and took custody of the package.

Salt Lake Police Bike officers observed Denis Danyelo Gutierrez-Cruz, 23, distributing narcotics at the shelter. Approximately 100 twists of cocaine and heroin and cash were seized. Gutierrez-Cruz was booked into jail for distribution of cocaine, and possession of cocaine and heroin with the intent to distribute.

Two males entered a restaurant wearing all black with grey scarves over their faces. The suspects displayed a weapon and demanded money. Both suspects left on foot in an unknown direction. Suspects were described as a black male, 25-30 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall, skinny, and a heavyset male Hispanic.

Two males entered the smoke shop and produced a weapon demanding money. The suspects received the money and left in an unknown direction. Suspect #1 is described as a black male adult, skinny, medium height wearing blue jeans, tennis shoes with white bottoms and a black puffy coat. Suspect #2 is described as a black or Hispanic male that was heavy set, medium height. Both males spoke with accents.
