Officers working in the area came into contact with Michael Ortega 36, Ortega had outstanding felony warrants. As officers tried to take him into custody he began to fight. A crowd gathered and more officers were brought in to maintain safety and assist with the arrest. Ortega has a health condition that officers were exposed to. Several officers were treated at a local hospital for significant exposure. Ortega was taken to jail for his warrants.

The victim was sitting by himself at this location when acquaintances allegedly pulled up next to him and shot at him as he ran away. The motive for the shooting is unclear. Detectives were called out and will continue the investigation.
