Car-prowl/foot pursuit

A Sergeant was checking the apartment’s parking lot at this location due to recent trespassing/car-prowl issues and observed a male committing a car-prowl. When Richard Bolen, 32, saw the Sgt. he got on a bicycle and fled. The Sgt. followed calling out directions of travel but lost Bolen near 1100 East 2100 South. Responding officers found Bolen behind SL Pizza and Pasta. Property from the car-prowl was found in Bolen’s possession and was identified by the victim of the car prowl. Bolen was booked for car-prowl, fleeing and warrants.

Auto/ped hit-and-run
500 East Harvard Ave.

The victim was riding a skateboard northbound on 500 East in road. A white passenger vehicle, also driving northbound, struck the victim near Harvard Avenue. The vehicle then fled the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Robbery
470 South 700 East

Curtis Sims, 36, entered Big Daddy’s Pizza wrapped in a large white garbage bag. He approached the cashier and asked about money. Sims then produced a large metal pole and swung it at the cashier striking him in his hand. He swung again at the cashier, but missed. The cashier alerted the other employees, and 3 other employees came from the back kitchen to confront Sims. Sims then fled the establishment. Employees pursued Sims northbound on 700 East the cashier was able to keep up with Sims and continued to pursue him until Sims was taken into custody by officers in the parking lot of 400 South 700 East Sims was transported to jail where he was booked for aggravated robbery. The victims did not sustain any significant injuries.
