Aggravated assault/Barricaded subject

Officers responded on a domestic violence incident and determined that the suspect had committed an aggravated assault against his father as well as violated a protective order against his wife. When the suspect fled the scene he said he was going to get a gun and come back and kill them. Officers responded to a second address, and while approaching the house, the suspect made contact through a window, refused to come out, and said he was going to kill himself. SWAT was called out while a search warrant was written. Contact was attempted unsuccessfully by negotiators. Through the use of chemical tools the suspect surrendered peacefully. Officers booked Darin Ackman, 32, into jail for domestic violence related aggravated assault, violation of a protective order, three counts of felony domestic violence in the presence of a child and warrants.
