The victim was walking on the trail at North Gateway Park when a male came out of a tall grass area and began to swing a knife at her. The victim sustained several minor wounds to her arm before getting away from the male and fleeing the area. The suspect was not located, he’s described as an adult white male, wearing a white tank top and jeans with a full beard.

Weapon Possession on School Grounds

Officers responded to West High School on a report of a possible juvenile with a gun. Officers placed the school on lockdown and began to look for the suspect with the assistance of West High School administration. Shortly after placing the school on lockdown officers observed the suspect in a room and safely took him in to custody. A handgun was located on his person. The suspect is a juvenile and was booked in to detention on charges of possession of a weapon by a minor, possession of a firearm on school grounds and carrying a concealed weapon.
