A male victim entered the locked lobby of the Public Safety Building. The male said he had been shot at the above address. Officers followed evidence back to the location of the shooting. The victim was uncooperative with officers and a suspect description was unable to be obtained. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Several calls of shots fired were received at the above address. Officers responded and located shell casings in the roadway. Witnesses reported seeing a dark sedan leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

Burglary in progress
803 W. Layton Ave.

Officers responded to this location on a report of a burglary in progress reported by someone watching the break in via live streaming camera. K9 officers called out to the occupants inside but no response was given. K9 officers entered and took a male into custody who was also bitten by the K9. The male’s female companion surrendered without K9 intervention. James Green, 55, was treated at a local hospital for the bite and then was booked for criminal trespass and interfering. Sasha Kilpack, 32, was cited for trespass and released.
