Complainant called police and stated that early this morning they heard 3-4 gunshots nearby. This morning while was walking their dog, they located several casings near the address. Officers collected the casings as evidence.

Victim discovered that his vehicle had been shot at between the hours of 12:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. while the car was parked curbside in front of his house. No bullet or shell casings were located.

Warrant Service

Javier Granados, 29, was wanted for a warrant and is the suspect in a recent sexual assault. Granados was observed in the above area and was taken in to custody without incident. Several officers were instrumental in this arrest and had spent a significant amount of time searching for Granados.

Fleeing, Warrant Arrest
900 S. State St.

Officers observed Joshua Johnson, 42, riding his bike in the general area of 1000 South State Street without proper bicycle lighting. Officers attempted to stop the Johnson, who fled on the bicycle. Officers caught up to Johnson at 900 South State Street and were able to stop him. Johnson resisted arrest but was taken in to custody. Johnson had a warrant for his arrest. He also had a large quantity of car keys stolen in a burglary two days prior in another city. Johnson went to jail for fleeing, providing false info, resisting arrest, possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and the no bail warrant.

Occupied Stolen Vehicle
500 S. West Temple St.

Officers located an occupied stolen vehicle at 500 S. West Temple St. Officers attempted a traffic stop but the vehicle fled, and officers did not purse. A short time later officers in the area of 820 S. Washington St. observed the vehicle parked curb side and two suspects fleeing from it. The driver Jorge Espinoza, 31, was seen walking onto a porch and sitting in a chair a block east. Officers took him into custody. He was then positively identified as the driver of the vehicle. Espinoza was taken to jail on stolen vehicle charges.
