Follow-up to Aggravated Assault

While in the area officers recognized a suspect from yesterday’s aggravated robbery/shots fired call. Officers detained the male and an interview was conducted. Keshab Bhattarai, 18, was booked in jail for aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and warrants.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle

Officers noted a suspicious motorcycle in the area and ran the plate, It came back as being stolen. Officers stopped the motorcycle and arrested Alejandro Vargus, 24. Vargus was booked into jail for the possession of the stolen motorcycle, license plate, no driver license, possession of methamphetamine.

Aggravated Robbery
1611 S. 5600 W.

WVCPD received a call of a reckless driver at 3500 S. 5600 W.  A short time later dispatch received a call of a single vehicle wreck at 1611 S. 5600 W., and that the occupants of the wrecked vehicle had approached the victim and tried to take his semi-truck and threatened him with a handgun. Officers arrived and located a male hiding in the area, however the other two suspects fled into a nearby field. A large containment was set up, with WVCPD K9 and UHP helicopter units assisting, however the other suspects were not located. George Kongaika, 33, was transported to jail and booked on several charges.
