Stabbing/Carjacking

Officers were notified of an injured person and located them at the above address. It was determined that he had been stabbed multiple times and his vehicle was stolen. UHP quickly located the victims vehicle abandoned at 144 S. 800 W. Containment was quickly established but the suspect was not located. The victim was transported to a local hospital with several minor lacerations but was uncooperative with the investigating officers. The suspect information given is a white male adult, tall, wearing shorts, a white bandana, and goes by the street name of “Jersey”.

Burglary/K9 Apprehension

Officers responded to a burglary in progress at the LDS Church Distribution Center. Officers witnessed a male inside the store assaulting a church security officer who was trying to detain him. A K9 Officer employed his dog to take the suspect into custody. EMS transported the suspect to a local hospital to be treated for the dog bite. Crime Lab responded. The male had damaged multiple doors and an electronic scanner inside the building. Mickey Etsitty, 50, was later released from the hospital and booked into jail on Burglary, Criminal Mischief, and Assault.

Shooting
1795 W. 500 N.

Police received a call for shots fired with a male victim at 500 N. New Star Dr. A male was found lying in the grass in front of the apartments and bystanders were rendering aid. The male was shot twice in the upper left leg. Officers applied a tourniquet to the victim’s leg. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Shell casings were recovered at the scene. Investigation is ongoing.
