A patron of the club entered through a side door and started firing several rounds into the ceiling then pointed the gun at another patron. An employee of the club drew his personal weapon and fired at the suspect who fled out the door and collapsed nearby. Arriving officers attempted life saving measures but were unsuccessful and the suspect was declared deceased by EMS personnel. An officer was assaulted by other patrons during the investigation. Richard Johnson, 36 and Timothy Stohrer, 39, were both booked for assault on an officer and interfering. Detectives responded to the scene for the investigation.
