Assault and Pursuit
700 S. 700 E.

A female entered a local store and indicated that she had been assaulted and kidnapped. Officers arrived on scene and began an investigation. The assault had taken place nearby and officers observed a person matching the description of the suspect. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle the suspect was driving. The suspect fled the scene and officers pursued due to the serious nature of the incident. The vehicle the suspect was driving was also listed as stolen. The pursuit went through several jurisdictions. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle using the PIT maneuver. The suspect intentionally rammed his car into a police car. The suspect eventually lost control of his vehicle and officers were able to take him into custody. Shawn Ieremia, 38, was arrested for assault on a police officer, failure to stop, and theft. Charges surrounding the assault and kidnapping with be screened.

Traffic Incident
2100 S. State St.

A vehicle was travelling South on State Street when it turned to go East on 2100 S. A vehicle going North on State Street broadsided the turning vehicle. The driver of the turning vehicle was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
