SLCPD Releases Photos of Car Believed to be Involved in Property Destruction

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department is releasing photos of a car believed to be involved in recent cases of property destruction that resulted in more than $10,000 in damages.

The car is described as possibly an older model green and gold Subaru sedan. The license plate is unknown at this time.

These investigations started at 6:16 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023, when SLC911 took a call from a community member reporting their car window had been shot out near 700 North East Capitol Boulevard.

During the investigation, patrol officers found several other cars on East Capitol Boulevard and in the surrounding area had windows shot out.

It appears the windows were shot with a BB gun.

Throughout the day, officers took additional reports of vandalism where windows of several businesses throughout downtown were shot out.

Officers retrieved surveillance footage from one of the businesses that captured a car believed to be involved in these cases.

Anyone who recognizes this car – or knows anything about this case – is encouraged to call 801-799-3000.

The total number of vandalism reports taken is still being compiled.

Photos of the car are being released. Media may use this photo with credit to the Salt Lake City Police Department.
